 Position Opening:  Executive Director

The Raise Foundation, a non-profit social service agency located in Orange County, CA, seeks an Executive Director to position the agency for the changes and challenges of the next decade.   The ideal candidate will be an accomplished executive able to maintain strong, positive relationships with contractors, funders and collaborative partners, and who can identify and procure new sources of revenue and sustain/create programs to meet the future.

This is a full time exempt status position requiring excellent leadership, analytical, decision making, organizational and communication skills. The Raise Foundation, with an annual budget of $1 million and 22 employees,  provides family strengthening, child abuse prevention services through eight family resource center collaboratives throughout Orange County. The Raise Foundation also serves as the official Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) for the County of Orange. Responsibilities under this appointment, include child abuse/child safety public awareness campaigns, professional development workshops, the annual Child Abuse Prevention Conference, etc.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education

Preferred:  Masters Degree in Social Work or closely related field with eight years management experience in a social services, non-profit and/or governmental agency.

Required:  Bachelors Degree in Social Work or closely related field with eight years management experience in a social services, non-profit and/or governmental agency.

Experience

Preferred:  Eight years experience as the executive director of a social services, non-profit agency.  Experience managing a Child Abuse Prevention Council in the State of California.  Knowledge of the Orange County community.

Required:  Eight years experience in a supervisory/management capacity with  a social services, non-profit agency (minimum of five employees).

The ability to work successfully in collaborative relationships with other community-based organizations is essential.

Excellent communication skills, both oral (English) and written (English).

Experience in fundraising and grant writing, as well as the preparation of proposals for Federal, State and local funding.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all operations of the Raise Foundation;
  • Maintains/creates effective programs and efficient service delivery systems;
  • Reports to a volunteer Board of Directors, prepares reports as assigned, assists in board development and recruitment, implements the board’s policies and assists in the facilitation of board meetings;
  • Acts as the “voice and face” of The Raise Foundation in public venues, county meetings, and other venues as necessary;
  • Assists with the identification and cultivation of supporters/donors
  • Assists with the identification, procurement and maintenance of revenue sources to reflect a balanced portfolio for revenue;
  • Ensures contract compliance and compliance with federal, state and local employment and business regulations;
  • Supervises agency staff;
  • Ensures and/or prepares reports timely as required by contractors, funders, etc.;
  • Maintains and continually develops strong, positive relationships with partner agencies, county leadership;
