The Child Abuse Prevention Council invites professionals who work in fields related to the well-being of children and families, as well as parents, to attend Orange County’s 30th Annual Child Abuse Prevention & Treatment Conference on March 7 & 8. Participants may attend one or both days. The “Pathways to Prevention” Conference will be held on the campus of University California, Irvine (UCI). Attendees will hear from leading experts and leave with practical knowledge and effective action steps to address and help prevent child abuse and neglect.
Keynoting this year’s conference will be Alyce LaViolette, a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and Expert Witness.Twelve workshops will cover topics such as: Trauma, Youth Homelessness, Gang Prevention, Child Sex Trafficking, Military Families, Domestic Violence, and Proven Parenting Strategies. Attendees may also receive CEUs and CMEs. In addition, attendees will also have the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and gather valuable resources by visiting exhibitor tables.
To educate and empower the next generation of professionals and parents, a special networking reception for college students and professionals has been added to the conference schedule. Featured speaker for the reception will be Dr. Anne Light, Medical Director, County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA).
