To remind all of us that childhood is supposed to be fun and peaceful, there will be nearly 60 Pinwheels for Prevention Gardens “planted” throughout Orange County during Child Abuse Prevention Month. Thanks to hundreds of community members of all ages, the gardens will be up all month at schools, places of worship, businesses, police and fire stations, cities, nonprofits, and even a cemetery.
A special call out to Ocean View School District which has more than half of its schools planting and dedicating a garden. (To see the full list of locations go to: ocblueribbon.org.)
“It is our hope that when people see these Pinwheel gardens, they will be reminded to do all they can to ensure the safety of all children around them – whether or not they themselves have children,” noted Raise Foundation spokesperson Keri Gee Semmelman.
