OCAP Father Engagement

The Father Leadership Program invites fellow fathers and father figures in your community to connect and share about parenting experiences, and engage in a “non-judgmental” dialogue and build relationships with fellow participants.

The Father Engagement Program is designed to support and encourage fathers in their roles, whether they're biological, adoptive, or stepfathers. These programs often aim to improve the quality of father-child relationships, promote positive parenting practices, and address challenges that fathers might face.

  • Strengthen Father-Child Relationships: Enhance the bond between fathers and their children through improved communication and quality time.
  • Improve Parenting Skills: Equip fathers with the knowledge and skills needed to be effective and nurturing parents.
  • Promote Positive Family Dynamics: Foster a supportive family environment where all members, including fathers, feel valued and engaged.
  • Address Specific Challenges: Help fathers navigate and overcome common challenges such as balancing work and family life, dealing with stress, or managing parenting responsibilities.
  • Encourage Involvement: Increase fathers' involvement in their children's lives, from daily activities to important life events.
  • Build a Support Network: Create a community of fathers who can support each other and share valuable experiences and advice.
  • Enhance Fathers’ Well-Being: Address aspects of mental and physical health that impact their ability to parent effectively.
